NerdCon: Stories Recap
/YoGeeks, we (upward) salute you!
JusiniYogini, fearless leader of YogaQuest here. I just had to write the NerdCon: Stories wrap up personally. I was incredibly moved by this event. I believe that stories are one of the most meaningful tools for healing we have as human beings, and I felt so honored to be a part of this story-telling celebration.
YoGeeks, we (upward) salute you!
I was skeptical when our contact told us we’d be appearing at 8am both days. But I was so happy to be proven wrong! Lit nerds are early risers (or they never sleep). On Friday, we presented a Dungeons and Dragons-themed Quest written by YQmunity member MJ Voytek and read by YQ teacher Kris Anne Regeth; and on Saturday we presented a John Green story mash-up-themed Quest written and read by YQmunity member, and social media maven, Lauren Peck. We had incredible crowds for our events both days. Many attendees came to both yoga sessions and I’m not sure that we have ever had a more engaged crowd of YoGeeks at a convention, let alone at 8:00 in the morning! #Swammo!
You are all powerful (reverse) warriors!
After our appearances, we were overwhelmed by the response of attendees. Whether coming up to us after the yoga sessions or tweeting at us later, attendees let us know that what we do really spoke to them and that’s the whole reason that we do what we do!
I can't even "stand" how alert everyone is at 8am! How do they do it?!
Thank you NerdCon: Stories for inviting us to participate and more than that, thank you for existing. We hope that you come back to the Twin Cities next year! Nerdmaste!
"Tree" you later! And thanks for bearing with my puns.
If you missed either of these quests, or just want to experience them again, you're in luck! We will be guiding these classes at the studio in the coming weeks. Here is where you can find the John Green Questand here's the DnD Quest!
